Preparation of Grid of Roads

Considering the longer time required for preparation of DDPs following the procedure of T&CP Act and DDP rules, it was decided to prepare the grid of roads for the fast growing villages in CMA which would result in good circulation pattern leading to planned developments.CMDA had already prepared grid of roads for the Mudichur and Palanthandalam villages along the ORR and the Authority in A.R.No.56/2013 dated 1.7.2013 have approved the grid of roads for these villages for insisting the same while according planning permission for developments in these villages.

In the Phase-II, CMDA by involving the School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University and School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada have taken up the preparation of grid of roads for the villages along ORR and IT Corridor.

The Technical Review Committee have been convened to steer the study. SAP Anna university have completed the preparation of grid of roadfor one village (Kunrathur) out of24 villages. SAP,Vijayawada have completed the existing road network for 7 villages out of 29 villages.

The Implementation of grid of roads will improve the road infrastructure in CMA in a planned manner which is one of the major goals of preparation and implementation of DDPs.Thus the main objective of preparation of DDPs is being achieved by preparation of Grid of roads at micro level.
